NEWSFLASH: TURKEY LUNCHMEAT DOES NOT TASTE LIKE ACTUAL TURKEY

I like meat. (That's what she said. Still funny!) I fancy most meat but like most, have my preferences. This whole post is going to be one giant "that's what she said!" As I was driving home from work yesterday two things dawned on me: 1. Lunchmeat turkey does not taste like actual turkey. 2. If I'm thinking about things as random as lunchmeat, Stella must be getting her groove back.

I thought very hard about lunchmeat for a good 10 seconds. Trying to actually remember what turkey lunchmeat in fact tasted like. Turkey is the go to meat for me. Actually I'd take salami over any other kind of lunchmeat. It's just better. Although I would slap a baby for a roast beef, horseradish, and watercress sandwich right now. I probably wouldn't even feel bad about slapping that baby either. Do you know how good those sandwiches are? Seriously people!

Most people will always either have turkey or ham when offering to make you a sandwich to take to the beach or on a picnic. Deli trays are another subject because usually there is some kind of salami but that isn't the point. Now I'm way off topic.

After those 10 seconds, I came to the conclusion that turkey lunchmeat tastes nothing like actual turkey. I don't see how it is even possible that turkey lunchmeat is called turkey. Last time I checked turkey wasn't slimy or had weird textures to it. Maybe I'm biased because the sight of most lunchmeat is absolutely repulsive to me. So repulsive that if I look at it I typically have to throw it away or just not eat. Don't even ask me to look at the variety of typical meats on a sub. That sub will promptly turn into a cheese and lettuce pathetic sandwich. Also I just have a general issue with turkey because I don't even eat it at Thanksgiving. I'm too busy with all the other stuff. So I guess I'm just an all round turkey hater.

I don't plan on doing taste tests to resolve this issue but if you think otherwise please feel free to share your opinions.

I completely agree with you about the taste of turkey-lunch meat style. I don't know if it's actually even turkey, although it is my go-to meat if I've decided it's lunch meat week.

I'm very curious about this roast beast (I have to say that every time instead of 'roast beef'....and it kills me every time) sammich you mention. I recall you mentioning this before when, I think, you were in London. I could be wrong on that though. Being a guy and all, I love sammiches.

Here's something that I've thought about a lot recently since we've been getting snow: Why don't people use umbrellas when it snows?

On occasion I'll see someone open an umbrella if it's a particularly wet snow, but by and large, umbrellas aren't used. Not being a fan of umbrellas, I wouldn't even be a candidate for using one in the snow, but what about everyone else? I don't get it.
